HR Operations Manager

When I joined Guinness in 2012 I was attracted to working for an organisation that is making a difference across the country.
Customer service is at the focus of everything we do, and is the foundation of our culture across the organisation.
My role is varied in terms of the different teams I'm working with each day and the variety of challenges that provides. Sometimes you can be visiting a construction site and other times you can be travelling to our London office.
It's a sociable place to work and the team is very busy: you need to be willing to work hard and work well together. The structure of the HR department gives me wide ranging experience across all the business functions.
The 35-hour week gives you a good work life balance and the benefits are excellent.

Can you tell us something you do outside of work?
I recently won an employee Star award for Outstanding Achievement outside the Workplace, for captaining the England Fencing Team in the 2014 Commonwealth Championships.
What is the social life like?
The HR team often have social events planned in central Manchester or other locations, and we always take up any excuse to bring in food to put on a great buffet for our lunch, be it a Macmillan Cancer Support coffee morning or someone’s birthday.
